The 8 free checks

Start at the top. Unplug the machine first.

  1. 01

Run a Rinse and Spin cycle to rinse the load properly after the code appears.

  2. 02

Confirm HE detergent was used, at the dose the detergent maker recommends.

  3. 03

Check whether "no splash" or "easy-pour" bleach was used.

  4. 04

If that bleach is the cause, run the washer empty with regular liquid bleach or a washer cleaner.

  5. 05

Let the washer finish: it runs an automatic suds-reduction routine on its own.

  6. 06

Read the status lights. Sud or Sd with the Rinse light on means the washer is still clearing suds — let it run. With the Cycle Complete light on, the load may not be properly rinsed or spun, so run a Rinse and Spin.

  7. 07

If the bulk dispenser is enabled, stop adding detergent to the load as well, and check its concentration setting matches the detergent.

  8. 08

Use only HE (High Efficiency) detergent, and reduce the amount you dose.
