Maytag washer error Sud
Sud means the washer has detected excessive suds. It extends the rinse, pausing the tumbling and adding water so the bubbles can break — which may happen several times and is necessary, not a fault.

Start at the top. Unplug the machine first.

Let the cycle run: the extended rinses and pauses are the washer clearing the suds itself.

Use only HE detergent, dosed for its concentration (2x, 4x, 8x), the soil level and the load size.

Use large pre-measured pacs only for large or heavily soiled loads.

If "no splash" or "easy pour" bleach was used, run the machine empty with regular liquid bleach or a washer cleaner.

Check the drain hose and standpipe are not kinked, clogged or restricted.

Clean the washer about once a month, and more often with hard water or heavy use.
